Managing the creation and execution of an overall plan for community outreach and engagement to include housing, food, and employment security Convene focus groups to minimize duplication and maximize resources Provide leadership and support to Community Support Services programmatic areas of assignment Regularly analyze the local landscape to identify opportunities to grow Gaston County and resident-impact within and outside the community.
Develops, recommends, and implements County policy and procedures Builds upon existing community engagement efforts and identifies new opportunities to expand efforts with a focus on equity and access, especially in traditionally underserved communities.
Reviews and evaluates work and implements needed changes Prepares executive and technical reports and correspondence Monitors revenues and expenditures in programmatic areas of responsibility Enhances existing community and partner relationships through collaboration and outreach Represents the County at internal/external committee meetings Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a related field required, Master's degree preferred Prior community organizing, preventive planning, and/or other forms of constituent building experience (small- and/or large-scale) preferred Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include evenings and weekends, in order to meet the needs of community residents and be present at community functions Excellent communication and organization skills Knowledge of community development issues and experience working in diverse communities including multiple generations (seniors, youth, working adults), as well as across ethnic and racial communities Strong command of MS Office tools including PowerPoint, Excel and Word High energy, initiative, and creativity is desired Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Additional Information Minimally qualified applicants will be brought in at 25% of the salary range:
$93,160.
